The primary objective of the KEZAD East Port Said Zone is to establish Egypt as a premier global manufacturing and trade terminal by leveraging the strategic shipping routes of the Suez Canal. It aims to attract major multinational corporations to set up specialized manufacturing facilities, particularly in light industries, engineering, and automotive assembly. Additionally, the project intends to generate thousands of local jobs, boost Egypt's non-oil exports, and enhance maritime trade efficiencies. Ultimately, it serves to strengthen economic cooperation between Egypt and the UAE while diversifying the region's industrial output through sustainable infrastructure.
Description
The KEZAD East Port Said Industrial and Logistics Zone is a massive 20-square-kilometre hub developed under a 50-year concession agreement signed in May 2025 between Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone and the UAE's AD Ports Group. Strategically positioned at the northern gateway of the Suez Canal, Phase 1 launched construction on a 2.8-square-kilometre site. The megaproject integrates advanced manufacturing sectors, automotive production, and global logistics networks. Backed by world-class infrastructure and investor incentives, this specialized economic zone acts as a primary trade bridge connecting Africa, Europe, and Asia while attracting multi-billion-dollar foreign direct investments.
