Shargun Coal Mine Modernization Project

Description

The project modernized the Shargun and Baysun coal deposits in Surkhandarya Region, southern Uzbekistan. It aimed to replace Soviet-era mining technology, introduce mechanized underground extraction systems, modernize coal transportation infrastructure, and increase annual production capacity from a marginal operation into Uzbekistan's first modern underground coal mine.
