"The Rhine-Alpine Corridor is the shortest of the nine corridors of the core network. At the same time, it runs through some of the most densely populated and economically strongest regions in Europe. The RALP Corridor runs through five Member States and Switzerland. France was added to the catchment area of the corridor in light of the relevance of inland waterways and their ports along the river Rhine. Moreover, ther rivers Mosel and Neckar in Germany as well as Luxembourg's inland port of Mertertare included in the corridor.
