In late May project partners from Italy, Egypt and Greece came together to discuss the idea of the Infrastructural Mediterranean as a critical moment in the transformation of the regions that make up this 'sea of seas'. Discussion and work drew on various ideas of comparative urbanism to think through and across a series of fieldwork case studies. These spanned from data centres and real estate developments in Athens and the northern coast of Egypt, port led restructuring in Genoa and Alexandria, energy transitions in Crete, the role of corridors in restructuring national territories in Greece and Egypt, train operations in Greece and massive infrastructure projects in northern Italy.
